How to restore a bamboo fly rod
We have been restoring bamboo fly rods for 25 years. In the video series below we will walk you through how to assess a bamboo rod for restoration, mapping a rod, stripping, refinishing, and installing new components. The techniques are pretty straight forward and are a great way to get into fishing bamboo without the expense of purchasing a new blank. The videos below also work great for bringing older rods back to fishable condition. Working with older bamboo rods is a lot of fun and gratifying.
